Scenic Tag-along and guided walking tour to the Nyanda Gorge.
Service Description
Nyanda Gorge is one of the most beautiful parts of the area that has never been seen by the public. Tucked away in the rugged sandstone ranges of Nyanda, is a gorge that has been slowly carved out by water over millennia. The gorge hosts a variety of rare plants and there is a chance to see platypus swimming in the creek. We will take you on a 3 hour, moderate difficulty (grade 3) walk along the banks of the Consuelo Creek past huge sandstone cliffs to the big bend in the Nyanda Gorge. This tour will take 4 - 5 hours. Tour Itinerary: - 8:00am Meet at the junction of Wyseby Rd/Obriens Rd/Rewan Rd. - A short drive to the entrance of Nyanda Station - Drive through 5 wet creek crossings - Arrive to start our walk to Nyanda Gorge. - Guided walk (4km return) - Time to explore - Drive back to the Nyanda mailbox for conclusion of tour *You must have a four-wheel-drive to join this tour, preferably with high clearance for creek crossings. *Optional swim. (If you are willing to brave the cold water in the cooler months) *We do not currently provide food on our tours, so please remember to bring your own lunch and snacks. *We will have a water cooler in the vehicle to fill up water bottles. *Please note there are no toilet facilities near the Nyanda Gorge. If you need to go we will have toilet paper available for the old school bush method.
